Subject: Poser file to trueSpace w/o Poser using LUUV

Do I need to use LUUv plugin to open up a Daz/Poser figure file in trueSpace that is not in the Poser or Daz Studio program? I mean, can I import just the Poser figure file out of a desktop folder into trueSpace and open it up, apply textures etc? Or do I need to use the LUUV plugin? I am new to 3D, as you may be able to tell.

The LUUV plugin imports OBJ files only. The Poser CR2 and PP2 files are not able to be
imported by the LUUV plugin. Because of this, You must use Poser or DS to pose the
figure or set the scene, and export as an OBJ file. There isn't any way around this as far as
I know since the plugin supports OBJ format only.

erm LUUV imports and Exports Greywolf.. hold down ALT when you click LUUV to export.

Oh I know it exports, I just haven't had a lot of luck with that part of it. It tends to screw up my
meshes alot. That's one reason why I'm learning Modo. Still like tS though. I'm rather used
to it. :)

hmm how so? I use LUUV all th time going from tS to poser and back (not rigging - during mesh construction).. I don't get any screwups past loosing texture names..

As an example, when I built the command module of my eagle, I then exported, using LUUV.
I imported into Poser and found a mess of a triangular polygon angling across the doorway.
I then took the original COB file and converted to OBJ format using the old 3d Exploration
converter, imported the resulting OBJ into Poser, and it was fine. Given that, I have to assume
that the plugin was at fault. It might have a better time with easier meshes, but the eagle CM
was complex. :)
