Maybe it's just my perception but it appears that freebies are on the rise again thanks to the ShareCG model of paying it's uploaders for their work while maintaining the free status of items for the downloaders. What do you think about it?

I think it's wonderful all the way around.  Not only pays a little bit,
but it's vastly easier to upload and maintain than forum-based freestuff.

(The storage and the 'advertisement' are all the same thing on ShareCG, 
as opposed to maintaining your own website while updating separate links.)

The advantage for me is the storeage more than anything, to be honest I don't really have a huge payout, only about $20 every 2-3months.

I only manage a 1-2 freebies a month, only due to time contrainsts, There has been a bit more lately cause I had a few things in the works that got delayed due to RL issues.

Well for the past three months I averaged 1 freebie a day and payouts were an average of $40 for those three months. This month I've slacked off but I still expect to break the $20 minimum payout for the month. It's definately encouraged me to be productive with the tools I've spent so much money on. Of course the down side is I haven't rendered much of anything fun for the past four months either.

Well so far I've had enough views to get almost $20. but that just since starting there about the third week of last month. I find it easier to upload freebies to and no worries on the storage space, plus no upload limits. :) There'll be more freebies from me as soon as I finish a few retail goodies for here and DDU.
