Hi all
It was suggested to me that I post this here because poser was involved in the making of this 3D short movie.  Its called "Devil's Tears" and is on YouTube.

There are 4 chapters:

Chapter 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJhgQMgEw60
Chapter 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQvzk3HlE84
Chapter 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lRh4UB7VsI
Chapter 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqeXwn0bfAM

It took over a year for me to make and was definately a learning experience.

Looks cool.... can you explain in what fashion you used Poser, Bryce & Carrara? I'm realy interested in that......

One minor comment, if Poser was used in it why not mention it at YouTube? Only Bryce & Carrara are mention with a link to Daz, but shouldn't Poser/EF get some credit also?

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

The primary purpose of the movie was to show what could be done with DAZ' products.  I really didnt think of crediting Poser on youtube until someone else mentioned it.  On the actual short on the DVD, Poser is credited. The animations of the characters are poser animations which were imported into carrara and rendered.

Bryce was used for the interior of the spaceship, the space view of the planet and the surface of the planet.

Carrara was used to render the poser animations, composite the animations with Bryce renders (so they appeared as if they were done at the same time), to produce the fleets of spaceships, and to produce the explosions.

This was all rendered in separate passes with masks and composited in After Effects.  Where effects such as smoke, green screen removal, fire balls, and other things were added.

The animation was pretty amazing.  The voice acting was pretty bad.  The premise of that second video "if it doesn't have enough power, it sucks energy from around it, it stops time."  Hilarious!

If you make more videos and need voice acting, drop me a line.  fcabanski@hotmail.com
