For instance, here's a multi-layer view of "27100_library.PSD",
which is probably the one you'd want to re-color.
Obviously you should back up the originals first!

Thanks for the reply ockham, but what I am after is a way to categorise folders within each runtime that I have, in order to distinguish between say poses and mat poses. I just have so much trouble remembering which names are dresses and which are characters, when the creators name them after women's names.
as of poser 7 there is no way to assign an icon to one individual folder.
one option to help your organization is to move your mat files from the pose directory to the material directory and rename them from pz2 to mc6.

Quote - I'm not quite sure what you want to do but if you're running XP you can right click on a folder, select properties, select CUSTOMIZE tab then go to folder pictures and you could put a picture on the folder ow whatever you want. I don't know if this helps or not bu ya can't say I didn't try.
that will change the way it looks in windows expolrer, but not in Poser.

Thanks again to those who replied. I think I have at least worked out the problem if not the solution - Poser does not regard folders as having individual settings, therefore only one folder icon is required. If you could change that colour, it would change all of them!
This would not be an issue if there was some standardised way of naming folders amongst the community that (for example) placed a single identifying letter at the front of the name to clearly identify the category to which it belonged. Yes, I realise that many vendors place MAT in the name but this still does not tell you whether it is clothing MATs or a V4 texture.
I will explore the idea of creating new folders within my existing runtimes, but that could mean almost rebuilding them from scratch so I'm loathe to do that if there's any other solution.

Is it possible to change the colour of the folders in Poser 7? I can never remember whether a pose folder is poses or textures. I realise that I could further subdivide my Runtimes but it seemed a little bit time-consuming, having already set up eight of them. Might there be a way to change the appearance with a Python script? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
