Subject: Aiko problems with IK

Why doesn't the IK work on Aiko? When I translate the hip on the Y axis, the whole body floats instead of just the hip! I have the latest version of Poser 7 and Aiko 3 complete.

The same occurs in every Poser version for the Leg IK.  Arm IK works with hip translation though.  I think that this has to do with the way DAZ set up the Leg IK chains.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

Looks like you have exceeded the effects of the IK. Once you go beyond 0.015 the legs are as straight as they are going to be therefore if you continue to increase the value the legs will float because thay have nothing to do.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Actually, I was trying to get her to sit. When I translate the hip downward on V4 or any other DAZ model, the figure moves into a sitting pose. Not so with Aiko.

I don't have that problem with Aiko (used P6 & P7 for quick check).  Maybe your figure has been corrupted somehow.  I know there are some updates, but I have never applied them.

This is Aiko3 to be pedantic.  And maybe an update has changed something but I don't remember one being issued - have had this figure since its initial release.

Sussed.  You must disable and reenable the Leg IKs before the hip will work.  But that is all it should take.

*And that, good sir, is exactly what it needed. Thanks!

You must disable and reenable the Leg IKs before the hip will work. Ah, so that's why my A3 worked properly. I have it set up to load with the IKs off then enable if needed.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.
