This is a set of eight modern fully poseable military assault weapons intended to work with DAZ's Michael 3 and Victoria 4, however it can be used with any other character with a little tweaking of the pose dials. It is in fact the first half of the remodeled and re-textured weapons that made part of the best selling pack "Modern Weapons_Pack 1". I have decided to go ahead and update the original stuff in order to make it more usable to a greater variety of customers, including animators, as these weapons are now fully poseable, with moving parts etc. It Includes: 8 Character files: ============= 1) CETME LC --Spain 2) FAMAS F1 --France 3) FR-F1 Sniper --France 4) Galil SAR --Israel 5) HK33 --Germany 6) L85A1 --Great Britain 7) MAT49 --France 8) SG540 --Switzerland Note: Listed by alphabetic order. Some of the names are modified to avoid trademark issues. 25 Props, of which some are parented to the weapons 8 Hand poses for M3 8 Hand poses for V4 96 Poses for using the Weapons with Daz's M3 and V4 33 extremely detailed textures Available from Vanishing Point

Awesome. This reminds me of that famous saying: "So many guns, so little time"

Panko, see now what you have done. Another crazy maniac on the streets with a gun because of you.

Do these updated packs still have the V3 poses?

Quote - Do these updated packs still have the V3 poses?

Well, the original pack didn't include any poses at all. The updated ones however have 96 poses (each) for M3 and V4 (48 for each figure, including the setup poses, to load the gun in place), plus hand poses for each gun, for both M3 and V4.

Ah... thanks for the info... I just got pack#4 and the poses, along with the whole set was awesome...

Panko has some gun sets with V3 poses too plus matching guns.   I think the vietcong set and the vietnam set (do you get the impression I have too much content hehe).  I think I have all of pankos stuff.

V3 should be able to use M3's poses with a wee little tweaking.

Looks very good, but I hesitate, for I already have the "Modern Weapons_Pack 1", and I don't do animations.  shrug

Helgard ( ) posted Tue, 05 February 2008 at 9:36 AM

The poses don't have much to do with animations.

To explain it quickly, this is how it works:

  1. Load your character (V3 or M3, etc)
  2. Load the required weapon
  3. Apply fit pose to figure
  4. Apply fit pose to weapon
  5. Parent weapon to hand

Then you apply any of the poses made for the character with the weapon in the hands.

What this does is remove all the hassle of trying to get the weapon to fit into the hands, it is a 5 click process, and then you can pose the figure however you want, without worrying about posing the weapon as well, the weapon poses with the figure.

A really ingenius and massively time saving innovation from Panos.

If you mean me, it's a misunderstanding... :-D

The two parts of my post were separate, the first part (about poses) was actually a reply to onimusha (further up), the second an opinion on the pack. I mentioned animations because AFAIK (except the poses), the only difference between the old and the new packs is the fact the guns now have mobile parts. In short, my point was why getting a mobile version isn't worth $18.5 to me. I'll stick with the fixed versions of the old packs.
