Subject: locking onto part while posing

Is there a way to lock onto a part in C6, when posing it with the mouse? The controls keep jumping to other objects when I drag over their territory.
In P7, holding down the shift key locks you onto the active part (a feature I don't think is in the manual). I am hoping there is such a trick in C6.
