Subject: question about vue espirit

Hullo people :p

I am sure everybody has seen that email about Vue Espirit being 50% off. To tell the truth that sounds a very tempting offer so I went to check it out. According to what I see I can buy "extra packages" for it that will allow me to do more stuff. I was more interested on the "ecosystem generation 1" set, that will supposedly help me create entire forests and stuff.

My question would be: is the ecosystem thing the only way to go if I wanted to create a landscape with one hundred kabillion trees or something like that? or is it just meant to streamline the workflow? I ask this because I have to decide wether to buy the ecosystem with vue, right away, or if I could wait a little longer.

Thanks :)

Buy it. It's the only way to get that many trees in a scene. Assuming one hundred kabillion is more than one tree  :)

The nice part of Esprit is that you can USE ecosystems right out of the box (it comes with several), you just can't create your own until you get the eco module.  I'd jump on this deal.  You can always use this to upgrade to other Vue products and will get the full discount for the upgrade.

Aa an Esprit only purchaser and user I upgraded module by module as I needed them and that helped keep the learning curve down and let me focus on what I wanted to do.  The next big module you will want is Botanica so you can make plants.

The modules in Esprit are not as workflow efficient as they are in Inf.  As Peggy notes with the discount of 50% off Esprit and when you purchase all of the modules, you save, and in addition qualify for an upgrade from Pro Studio to Infinite.  When Esprit has all of the modules plugged in it becomes Pro Studio.

So as othes suggest, get the EcoSystem module, maybe even Botanica to get you on the road to building your own.

so you're telling me that if I end up buying all of the modules, it will be like I had bought vue pro, so I could then jump directly to vue infinite? if so, that sounds great, since I was thinking it would be better to buy the modules as I need them, but the ecosystem would definitely be the first one to get.

that's about the size of it yes.  Esprit with all the modules = Pro Studio.
I don't think you'll regret getting Vue either - I love it to bits :)

Yes - it sure makes it easier to step up to Infinite by litle steps instead of one big purchase!

Peggy, do you mean that if I have Vue 6 Infinite I can create ecosystems that others can use with Studio? That would pretty much make it worthwhile to buy a discounted copy of Studio to use while the computer running Infinite is busy.

As long as the user has the plants or object, then I'm pretty sure that an ecosystem material will work for them.

Also for Vue 6 Esprit and for those that only have Vue 6 Esprit it is not that big a jump from Esprit to Pro Studio, not a Big Jump at All. I just did it on my 1 year Vue Anniversary in December 2007 and Love Pro Studio!!! 8^D

I have not tried to load anyone’s Inf eco content with painted objects, and since Esprit Pro Studio does not have that feature you might try sending a painted eco to someone to see what happens.  As far as a regular eco made in Inf I can load them in Esprit or Pro Studio, except.

There is one problem when I load an Eco, if the Eco was populated before loading and not cleared then I will always get a crash.  That goes for Pro Studio as well.

Hope that helps.
