Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 12:37 pm)
I'm in the middle of reorganising my libraries at the moment, in a different way to how they were reorganised last time... The point is, I can't decide what's the best way to organise my own libraries from day to day, so what chance is there of getting everybody to stick to one structure? :) I think you may have picked the wrong word, but Convection would be a good way to do it. The hot stuff would bubble to the top then. :)

You know, There is such a vast amount of product available for free and for purchas for Poser that I am wondering if the way people create thier file tree for thier products should change.
For example lets say Batlabs has got something avalable for us. He might have his file tree set up like: Runtime/Libraries/Character/Batlabs/Victoria 3 Clothing/ When it may be best to do it this way: Runtime/Libraries/Character/Victoria 3/Clothing/Batlabs/SexySuitV3. This file tree would also have an additional subfolder in this instance called "Body" for actual 3d people characters
The latter is how I have my runtime setup for each of my characters. In this way the file section pabe in poser is kept from being miles long and every thing realated to Victoria 3 in kept in the a main Victoria 3 folder. All my furniture downloads have a base folder name called Furniture. Similarly environments go in a folder called environments. Buildings in buildings.
Do you agree? Of course I am not demanding anything. I am happy to restructure the runtimes to suit me.. However it would be great if all those who make content available for poser arrive at a common method. This includes DAZ,Smith Micro, and Renderosity.
Pete
Note: I'm not picking on you Batlabs. Your name just happen to be the first to come to mind.
