Subject: A RANT about websites and owners of the site

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

I have been on a few websites lately that I rarely visit and noticed some some have links to free stuff and when click on the files a notice comes up on the page about how such and such stole their work being used for something they did not authorize or band width being stolen or links just don't work.

Please don't bitch and moan, just remove the files and put a note stating no longer offered. Come on get over it and live your lives! Also if it was your work you should go after the company or the person who stole it, BUT YOU CAN'T DUE TO THE FACT THE FIGURE You where giving away free in the first place you did not originally create! Yes you did model and texture,  but since it was not your creation in the first place maybe you should contact the people who owns the copyright and complain to them and not take it out on people who use your figures/Props for art and just pure enjoyment.

I am not going to name the sites I am upset about but I do know this rant will get back to them and I hope it does!

While thats bad. What I really find offensive is trying to back up and look to see if there is a "rest of the site" only to be met by a page that as much as accuses you of trying to steal something. As far as web sites go..That really put me off the vendor all together. I can understand being to lazy to do a full site. But assuming anyone who wants to see if there is one is a thief is just tacky.

Lets face it...sites that are difficult to surf aren't inviting.

I have not found any of those yet, and I would like to see one? Just for kicks.

I agree with your rant, IMO if you make a freebie then let it be a freebie and dont try to control it or whatever. Think of it as your contribution to your karma. If someone then tries to make money
based on the work, well so be it and good luck to them. Though of course if they are stealing original work from you then you should try and stop them.

That said, i dont think this is really the right place for something like this. If we all start bringing up sites that piss us off, the forum will soon be flooded with nothing but that kind of threads.
