Subject: A rare triple comment...

FCLittle ( ) posted Wed, 02 April 2008 at 2:29 AM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 3:18 PM

Something very strange just happened....I was commenting on a picture (by Xpleet) and it seemed like my internet connection was freezing up a bit.  So I kept pushing the post comment button and somehow I posted a comment three times....now normally that's just not possible.  Has this happened to anybody else.  And Xpleet, if you like I'll delete the superfluous comments.....I just thought I'd let them stay for a while as a strange mutation....

I have seen it before, although I have never experienced it.  Must have been a power glitch that moved you dangerously close to the twilight zone.   Luckily you didn't slip through :)

I've had several, it's when you confuse the site by clicking in quick succession, mines normally due to too many hours using Vue LoL.

Hi, FCLittle.

Try this when posting at 'rosity:-

Just before hitting the "post" button, select everything you've written and copy it to clipboard (ctrl-A then ctrl-C in Windoze). Post. Wait a while (10 secs or so).

If your post appears then everything has worked OK and you've successfully posted.
If it doesn't then there's been a glitch, so back out to the previous page and refresh it. If your post is now there, then (obviously) it worked. If it's not then the your post didn't get through, so you can re-post by pasting your saved reply and trying again...

This sort of thing usually happens after the post has been received and added to the database, but then there's a hiccup in responding back to you (due to some delay in the pipeline). By checking as above, you can (usually) avoid multiple posts...

Hope that helps,

Cheers,
Diolma
