Hey All, I'm interested in buying the dragon from daz3d, and noticed the nice 80 dollar price tag. Can anyone tell me if they offer sales once in a while, or any other ways to buy it at a reduced price? Dragontales (no, this is not a warez request!)

Yes they do from time to time offer sales. I remember reading in a thread somewhere recently they would be having some upcoming sales, so you may want to sign up for their newsletter if you havent already.

I have dragon V2 ........20 bucks.....its a great price and loaded for the price, it doesnt look as vicious , but with morphs it could be.

I have both, and I love them both. You might want to start with Anton's and wait for a sale on the Daz/Zygote dragon. Sometimes they have 35% to 40% off on anything in the store. Get on their mailing list and you can also download the freebies they have every week. Marque

PhilC just released a very impressive dragon too. It's available here in the store, and is a fraction of the cost of the Zygote beastie.

LOL! Hehe... you KNOW people here are OBSESSED when someone has to qualify a simple request with (This is not are warez request). My, my.... how the mighty have fallen. To answer your question.... Yes, DAZ does run sales from time to time. Make sure you are on their mailing list and you will get the discount information. Usually it is anywhere from 10-35%, and they happen about every 2-3 months or so. Take a look at the Ultimate Dragon and Anton's Dragon (www.bbay.com). Both are excellent!

Another option if you are going to spend money on Dragons is here! It's $80 dollars and you get all those lovely dragon parts to build your own dragons! I haven't bought it yet...but I plan to very soon!;-)

Just wanted to stipulate that the Zygote/Daz dragon is well worth the price, it's one of the best creations ever made by Zygote all around, but if you get it on sale even better. All the other dragons all around also look superb and are a might cheaper and one in particular not mentioned here is by Traveler at BBay,...decisions...decisions, hehe ;-)

Rad I beg to differ, Yes the ZYgote Dragon IS the best dragon IMHO available for Poser, but I have ALWAYS thought it was overpriced. I am NOT knockin Anton's dragon or anyone else's they are great too. Zygotes is the usual cut above the others though. I waited for it to go on sale. It's too bad, you JUST missed a 35% off sale at Daz. I bought it on sale about 2 weeks ago, it was 50 bucks. THAT is the price it is worth buying at IMO. You will probably have to buy textures for it too, that makes it even more important to wait for a sale. You could easily get into it up to 200 bucks by time you get all the stuff (which should come with it, also.. just IMHO) that goes with it. Make sure you are gonna use it for something if you are gonna buy at the 80 dollar price.

Yet another great dragon is the Ultimate Dragon by Konan available from his site. It is $34.95 US and is great...he also has several free static meshes of the same dragon available for download. http://www.ev.ca/konan Regards Eshal

Hey, Just wanted to say thank you for all the great ideas and other options that I didn't know were available. I am on the mailing list for Daz, but only just got on it a week or so ago. I'll hold out for a sale. As for the other dragons, I will also check them out as some of them sound really promising. I have no problem spending money on something I know I like or works well, but to shell out 80 bucks for a model I may not even like is a bit hard for me at this time. Thanks again to all!!! I just purchased the "Puff" dragon morphs a couple of weeks ago and I think they were worth every penny. Not only do you get awesome morphs, you also get a great texture along with a variety of poses. What I think puts this package above the rest is that you get a few motion files along with this that made animating the dragon a snap. It was a real life saver for the project I was working on. There is also some great free daz dragon textures floating around. I think there's one called the "dark leather" texture or something like that. Good luck, visualkinetics

I have the DAZ/zygote dragon and love it. (I have 2-3 other dragons, too!) You will find a variety of free textures and poses scattered over the forums for it. I didn't buy the DAZ texture, because I'd already found 2 others which were better, and used as a base for my own. But, I'd wait for a sale, if I were you (artists aren't known for excess cash). If you save $20-30 on the Dragon, you can afford another model, too. :) My next dragon purchase would likely be the one from 3DMenagerie. They do great work, and the flexibility is outstanding. Now if they would just start making other medieval/mythological monsters I'd be a happy camper. Too many dragons and not enough goblins I say. ;x
