Subject: Bizarre cr2 problem

Hi, I'm creating a pair of gloves. I thought I'd check one glove first, so I cut the mesh up into separate objects, named exactly like the corresponding Mil3 bodyparts (lPinky1, etc.). I imported this object into poser, and added the Blank figure in the Setup room. Going back out to the pose room, a quick check of the joints, and it looks good. I zero the new glove, and memorize the figure. All good so far. I save the cr2 to my library, and then reload it. Somehow, now the polygons assigned to a particular finger cross over! A sample render is below with lThumb1 bent. Weird.jpg I've tried this several times. I haven't ever had this problem before. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I'd locate the object that the cr2 file references and load it into my modeler. Then I'd select the left index part and add the misplaced polygons to recreate the full part. Barring any further anomalies, after saving the object the cr2 would work properly. Knowing why this happened isn't nearly as important as getting past the malfunction.

Thanks for that explanation Paloth ... I followed your instructions. The original issue solved. Now I have a new problem. The UV maps are gone for part of the gloves. I use Hexagon for my modelling. It turns out that every group was missing or had additional polygons after saving out the cr2 from Poser, so I had to do quite a bit of cutting and welding. Somewhere along the way I must have done something to remove the UVmap. Any other thoughts?

EDIT: ... :( Still having problems.

Ummm ... ok. I should have waited to make my second post. This is still bizarre. Using the original OBJ file exported from my modelling program in place of the one created by Poser solves the problem. I don't understand it, but it works. Materials and groups are all correct. Now to tweak the joints a bit.
