Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
A .crz file is the compressed format for a .cr2 file. In order to open the file in Notepad you need to uncompress it. Apparently gzip can uncompress it.
I just use the Python script menu under "Utilities" and compress and uncompress inside Poser. If you have Poser 6 or 7, you don't have to uncompress the whole runtime. You can just browse to the one folder that has the file in it that you want to compress or uncompress. Unfortunately you can't do single files inside Poser.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
One thing to watch out for: When you uncompress the older CRZ files
that came with Poser 5, like those awful cartoon figures, you'll find the
actual CR2 still has a CRZ extension. This doesn't mean it needs to be
unzipped again. It's just an error in the way these old files were built.
After the extraction, rename the resulting file to CR2.

.cr2 files can be edited in Word and Notepad but .crz files show up with crazy symbols.
How can .crz files be edited? Do you need a special program?
