Redfield has a pretty good freeware water ripples plug-in. There is also a ripples magic plug-in.Yeah I read about the Redfield stuff but unfortunately I am on a mac and all the interesting plugins are .exe files. I guess many Windows plug-ins, FX and utility creators think Windows is the only way to do things! :(
If they were in .zip format or more universal I would have gotten ALL the stuff there especially that hand drawn look like filter. >sigh<
Ohhhh a mac person. Then there is always the more expensive DreamSuite AutoFX software that supports both PC and Macs. Or Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Nature has a ripple plug-in.

I think you are looking for ZigZag...go Filters>Distort?ZigZag and in the dialogue you have 3 choices. I suspect this is what you used in times past. It's been there for a while, at least 4.0.. ...

Hi!
First time in this forum and need help.
Been using PhotoShop since version 3 and despite thinking i have been pretty proficient in it, I feel real stupid asking this but I don't remember how I did it and desperation drove me here.
I am now using version 7.
I need to create a figure in a pool and need to create receding ring ripples in the water around the figure in the pool . I have looked through all the darn filters and all the tools i could think of and even tried looking through the various "PhoroShop WOW!" books I have collected through the years for some hint how this done and have pulled a bigger blank from those resources that I have from my aging brain!
Can someone...ANYONE...PLEASE....direct me to the correct filter or procedure or plug-in if there is one, that will allow me to do this?
As I said I did do it once years ago with an earlier version of the app but for the life of me do not remember how the frell it was done! :(
Thanks in advance for any help!
