THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Point of View Help

Would anyone possible know how to set the camera angle to view an object like SimCity3000 or Diablo?  It's that 2.5D look that is at an angle but it has no perspective dept and continues without changing perspective.  Anyone know what I'm talking about? I think I made that sound too confusing...lol.  If anyone knows how to do this in Bryce I'd greatly appreciate it!

I think simicity uses something around 60degrees downangle. As for FOV I haven't a clue.

Camera settings:
Rotate:  X: 22.5 deg,  Y: 22.5 deg,  Z: 0 deg.
FOV: 1 deg.
Scale: 100%

That's as close as you can get to an orthographic view (it still has 1 deg. of perspective).
The rotation might need to be tweaked.
It's hard to aim the camera.
Forget about using atmosphere.

Alternatively you could ofcourse group the scene, switch to one of bryce's ortographic viewports, and rotate the whole group to require the desired look.

Bryce 'Orthographic' view is 10 deg. FOV @ 200% scale. It isn't really an orthographic projection, just pretty close...
But if you just set the camera up with very low FOV then you don't have to group/rotate the scene. You can just move the camera around normally and have the same effect.

You know? I've this nagging suspicion that SILO's default FOV is the same as SimCity, but I stand to be corrected here.

I've never played SimCity...
I've never used Silo...
I guess I couldn't really say about that, Bryster.
