Subject: Forum textbox

I don't know if anyone has already complained about it, but the search gave me nothing. I find the forum textbox extremely annoying. Everytime I hit Enter my page jumps up and I have to click in the box again to resume typing. Same goes for end and home keys, and the backspace.

Any way to change this? Pretty please...

I think if many more whould have that problem you whould find a zillion messages about it for sure...
But i never had it.. and reading the search you did came up with nothing ...
Maybe its you browser or OS having a hickup on this site...
I dont think its a site wide flaw.. because sure more peole had "complained " about it ...

Sucks for me then :P

Someone over at the C4D forum had the same problem so at least I'm not crazy. I'm running Firefox on OSX Leopard btw.

**Try these 2 threads. Seems the issues are related.

The second thread is a rather long one, but the solution is in there someplace, from what I gathered.

Thanks for the links, unfortunately the solution wasn't in there. I'm assuming it's a Firefox thing, I'll try in Opera in just a sec. Or I'll just type without breaks from now on. :)

I use Firefox and don't have the problem. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help.

I believe it's Firefox, and you're not alone, it does it to me also (Everytime I hit Enter my page jumps up)

I'm using Firefox 3 and have had absolutely no problems except the page jump thing which is annoying as hell but tolerable. (yet, hopefully Renderosity can find a fix)

I would say...that in the past we (Renderosity) had problems displaying certain small portions of the site if members were using certain pop-up blockers. From what I remember it was Zone Alarm's pop-up blocker being turned on.

You may want to check your pc for any running pop-up blockers, including turning off the one inside Firefox (I don't run any at all, just too many problems with various websites)

Thanks for the info, I just turned off my Firefox popup blocker so let's see what happens...

Nope...it still jumps. And I don't have any third party popup blockers. I'm gonna have to get used to the no-break thing I guess. :)

AgentSmith ( ) posted Wed, 06 August 2008 at 12:38 PM

Yeah, mine jumps too. I'm on a new pc, so I've never had Firefox 2.0 installed on it, not sure if that version would not jump or not.

Guess I'll be using Opera for posting to the forums then :)

I get the same thing in FF3. It's annoying, but I've kind of got used to it now.

The text editor we use is the open-source FCK editor, so we'll be waiting on a new compilation of that to hopefully fix this problem :-)

Great to hear that, it's not easy being fully compatible with all the different browser out there. And you're right, I'll survive. :P

Cool to hear Karen, thanks.  ;o)
