Subject: Millennium Horse into Vue ?

Why won't Vue import the Millennium Horse. I also noticed it won't load the Mil cat either. Anyone know why?

Which version of  Poser?  Poser7 uses a object file that is not compatable with Vue.  There is a script that will convert the Obz. files into obj. files.    Also you may have to replace the old files with the new ones as Poser just reads the old ones.  (unless someone knows more than I which is quite possible)

Note:  Disclaimer:!!  I am not at all happy with the company that brought  Poser7 to life and used the new format.  I hope that the new company will get together with the others and straighten this out.

The Mil Horse has the reg obj file in geometries (blMilHorse.obj) so I don't think that is the reason. I just don't know.

I import the mil cat and horse on a regular basis - no problems.  I also use only one runtime, so maybe open the pz3 file in a text editor and check the paths are not messed up.

i have several runtimes - and no problems with the mill critters at all.

do you have your geometry files stored outside of the main poser runtime folder?  if so - this isnt too good LOL.  vue seems to hate this idea. =D

other then that, all i can suggest is reinstalling the ones you're having problems with, and if you have an external runtime, be sure to install EVERYTHING (including library files) to your main poser runtime, and then a copy of it to your external - removing any geometries & textures from the external runtime.

in poser7, there's also a  "check paths" python script... i think its supposed to tell you if your paths are bad - everything i just checked using it just said "done"... i'm assuming it means they're fine.

but we all know what assuming does. =D

other than these... i cant think of any more tricks - hope something works for you =D

ohhhhh... one more....

reduce texture sizes - they could be too big. =D

good luck!

Usually it is because Posre has converted the obj into obz and Vue don't like it!
Nothing against you, but I'm fed up saying this fix, there are loads of forum posts on this!!

Run your "uncompress" python script inside poser, ensuring you tick both boxes in the pop up, resave your horse, cat, whatever and it should import into Vue ok!!
