Subject: Saving user created camera settings to the library in Poser Pro doesn't work

Hi, I'm having trouble with some user created cameras in a multi figure scene. All the standard cameras save to the camera library with no trouble, but none of my user created cameras (parented to specific figure bodies and eyes) save their settings to the library. The .cm2 files created just contain a command to select the particular camera, but don't include any of the camera's parameters. The cameras are correctly saved with the .pz3 scene file, but it's extremely tedious to extract parameters I want to save and hand edit a camera pose for one of the user defined cameras, though it does work when I select such a file from the camera library.

I'm on an Intel MacBook Pro in OS X 10.5.4 using Poser Pro SR1

Any XP or Vista users out there with the same trouble or is it just a Mac Poser prob.?

This problem can also be seen on the Windows OS.  It is just the inherent way Poser saves it's files to the library.  You could try saving is as a pose rather than a camera.  That might retain the custom parameters.

In detailing the problem to Smith Micro, I discovered that it's nothing to do with whether the camera is user created or standard, but whether the camera is parented to a figure or not.

I can reliably stop the Main camera saving its parameters to the library just by parenting it to a figure.

I had already attempted to try saving the cameras to the pose library, but when you choose the Select Subset button on the save dialog, it doesn't show any of the cameras. They are deliberately excluded from pose sets.

I may have to write a python script to work around this. In effect, I'm after multiple Pose type cameras that parent to a specific actor on a figure, rather than the hip only as with humanoid figures. Especially with figure heirarchies (person in a car or on horseback) in animations the need to have cameras that have a fixed attitude in relation to the parent figure, regardless of that figure's orientation in a scene is important.
