Online Now!

Over at DAZ in the Studio forum there is a lot of discussion about a plugin being developed for DAZ Studio called AniMate. It is being developed by a third party. The beta testers are reporting this plugin  as sensational.I wonder if Smith Micro is watching with interest to see what it may develop for Poser in the same vain? Apparently it is quite a step to make animating easier.I wonder? Cheers

Passion is anger and love combined. So if it looks angry, give it some love!

Nope... it can do more. That video only scratches the surface. You can combine different aniblocks, stretch them out, shorten them, make your own with the other plug-ins, keyframing, even importing BVH files. You can export BVH as well if you want to tweak more in another program like Poser. I'm happy to see that someone made a video showing the creation of a "more typical" animation as most of the demos are dancing.

Here's their page with more tutes:

It's a simple way to create animations and save them for re-use to apply to other characters. It looks like, with a little experimenting and practice, some pretty complex animations are possible.

Several of us (Beta Testers) are creating addition aniblocks for both resale and freebies. I have a few that are ready but just waiting on the release to the GP (general public) of AniMate before I put them out there.

My ani blocks that will be free are going to be - Referee Poses (American Football)

So how many plugin's do you really need to make your own aniblocks?

ksanderson ( ) posted Tue, 30 September 2008 at 3:25 PM

Cool, Wolf!

The body movements look good, but I'm still not sure about the lip movements lining up with the speech.

LOL. I didn't know my question was that hard to answer.

I was hoping the guys making the aniblocks would answer before I put what little I know about in... Studio comes with Power Pose and Puppeteer and can import/export BVH files. You would have to purchase Mimic and anything else.

I see, so there are not any other plugins, it is a stand alone plugin that uses what DS has. Does it use mimic or is mimic just something used along side like we do now with other software.

You need to be careful when saying you need multiple plugins when refering to DS.

Mimic is used as a plug in in this video

Mimic is a stand alone software. So are you saying that animate uses it as a plugin? Or are you just saying that mimic is used.

Is there some new update of mimic that I don't know about that is now just another DS plugin?

None as far as I know, just created the block from the time line in DS

I don't know. The post on the DAZ forum said they used Mimic in the video and he is in Studio while he's doing it. Watch it. I missed it if he left Studio while doing the lipsync.

Lipsync is a build-in function in DAZ Studio since the latest official update. You can find it under TABS -> Lipsync

Cool! That answers that!

thd777 ( ) posted Thu, 02 October 2008 at 11:41 AM

Just wanted to add that Lip-sync in DS is not identical to Mimic. The latter has significant additional options (but you need t purchase either the lite or pro version).
