Subject: Poser Pro keeps trying to connect to the internet and I want it to stop

Darboshanski ( ) posted Tue, 07 October 2008 at 1:09 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 12:10 AM

Each time I open Poser Pro it wants to connect to the internet even though there is no internet connections enabled on the machine I use Poser Pro on. The machine I use it on is strictly a render only machine so how do I get Poser Pro to stop trying? It messes things up and sometimes I get an error as I am working that poser pro has stopped working and shuts down.

Thanks!

Poser does a "duplicate license use" check on the local network, which you can't turn off.

Is this Poser Pro that does this? Because Poser 7 does not try to connect.

It also does a local network call when using the render queue or when rendering as a separate process

you can also install the freeware zonealarm - to be more sure than sure that poser doesn't connect to the net! ;)
