Makes you not want to eat Red Meat Hunh. Sorry if I have turned anyone off from steer. This picture basically grew out from a photo I took two years ago and wanted to post here. However I felt it needed "more". I actually have no problem with red meat. ( Why else did I take a picture of the House Of Beef ) Let me know what you think. Bsteph

I'll have a brown-bag meat special please ;-), or in the words of Homer Simpson: MMMMMMMMMMMMMm, beef fat!! Some ad billboards really make you question their creators' sanity.

With the little 'foot & mouth' outbreak going on over here, they're culling cattle & sheep in our region considerably - still doesn't put me off my steak, though - just puts the price up.....whinge

LOL Actually I liked the name for the resteraunt. I have heard of this place in the Midwest US called the Meat Hause (sp?) The lot was empty because they were closed for some minor holiday. Which was kinda surprising. I guess they could afford to be closed for a weekend so they must be making a good profit. So the hoof and mouth outbreak is still out of control. Eh. Wher does that stuff go? I assume it does not get burned. Which is probably the best solution. Boy I could use a well marbled steak right now. I'm humgry!! Bsteph

Yeah - they're burning quite a few, and seem to be burying the rest....not my idea of a solution. The burning is real bad, though... (If you're eating at this point, go away and come back later)....if you can imagine your barbecue with old, rotten wood and 10 day old meat, that's about the smell - pretty putrid....sorry.

No problem from my end. I suppose there is nothing else to do. I mean obviously you should not feed them to any other animal. That's what caused this problem to begin with. You could place them in the garbage. But cows are big things and that takes up a lot of space. Burning seems to be the best choice. However as you pointed out the smell. Well good luck. I'm sure it won't last too long. Bsteph
