I have to add a kind of "warning": I've modified the tummy in a way that may create distortions if you bend the abdomen and the hip frontwards (for instance by using the cute crouch-pose that ships with Antonia). I hope that you don't mind this little glitch...

As you can see in the picture, Antonia at the left, Victoria 4 at the right, both have conforming clothing, both clothing have no poke through.Ā The difference is Antonia has my conforming clothing that remains in its shape; Victoria's panties deformed!Ā
"My panties never behave like that" is the reason keeps me on trying to improve this simple piece of clothing for Antonia.Ā I tried magnet/deformer, they work but hard for the user to use.Ā I know dynamic clothing should work but I can't make it work for both Poser and DAZ Studio because I don't have the proper skill and software.Ā JCM becomes my only choice because I don't know other ways, if someone know that there is another way, please let me know.Ā The problem for JCM is the size of the file and the time spent in the process of making them.Ā I have to admit that I'm not good at conforming clothing but I want to learn and try it out.
I think, the ideal case will be the conforming clothing maintain its shape, not just deformed as the figure deformed in order to avoid poke through, it may even shape the figure.Ā In real life, I cannot do certain poses in certain type of clothing.Ā Ā I think it also applies to the 3D world.
I know if I keep on making more JCM to achieve the goal, this single piece of simple clothing will take me years to complete!Ā Any other thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
I really want to get it done before Antonia 1.0 to give her something that better than Victoria 4's basicwear.

IĀ think you've already achieved a lot. IĀ for one am thoroughly impressed by how well those panties keep their shape.
IĀ know that Antonia herself does not look perfect in every conceivable pose, and it bugs me. But as you say, one could work years on getting every little detail just right, and at some point the gain in quality is no longer worth the effort. You have to know for yourself when that point is reached for what you make. But I'm sure with every piece of garment you make, you will be a bit faster and have a better feeling for what can be achieved with which techniques, and how far you want to go.
Sorry if IĀ don't have any more useful ideas. I'd love to have a good modeling programming that understands Poser's bending, so that one could tweak the JCMs while trying out different poses and see the results right away. But as far as IĀ know, there is no such beast. Maybe it could be written in Python on top of Poser, or in DAZ's Javascript variant on top of D|S, but that would be a pretty big project, and IĀ don't know if the respective APIs would provide enough information and fast enough feedback.

Not in all cases, it highly depends on what you're after. Everything that flows gently around the figure like a dress, a wide trouser or a blouse is far more easy to pose when it's dynamic while very tight, "small" clothes like a vest, a jeans and such are often easier to pose as conformers.

Yes, that's right - but I am not sure if this is something that should keep people from making dynamic things for Antonia as long as DAZ doesn't release a tool for developers or change the way DS-dynamics work.*

Meanwhile I contacted Schlabber to ask him for his permission to conert his Poses to Antonia but unfortunatly did not hear back from him so far...
But I've downloaded one of the sets he offers on his site and the readme says the following:

He says you can improve (modify) them, and he says you can redistribute them. So yes, the way I read it, it's OK to modify and redistribute them, providing they remain a free.
I think Schlabber's intention is clear, he does not mind what you do with the poses so long as you are not charging for something that he intended to remain free.
@amy_aimei, I don't make clothing, just a user here, but what wrongs with Vicys clothing you showed is why I prefer dynamic if given a choice. Your conforming clothes would make me rethink that. Most conforming clothing seems to bend funny around the knees, or any joint that bends alot. Well done on what you have so far.

all the app's have rigs thay all bend like metal pipes.
but most app's don't use rigs for there realist 3D charater thay use a human as a puppet.

I think I'm almost done with the hands now. I've noticed that at some point the rotation center for thumb2 slipped to a bad position, which is easy to fix. Then I'll add some 'scale controlled morphs' to make the wrists look nice when the hands are scaled, and that's pretty much it. Some fine-tuning for the toes will be next, which IĀ think (hope)Ā will not take too long.
One thing I'm wondering about is whether IĀ should retrofit the existing JCMs to be controlled not directly by their rotation channels, but indirectly through a channel in the body as I am doing here. This would make it very easy to reduce the strength of selected JCMs or turn them off completely in situations where they are not needed/wanted (as when they are covered by loose clothing and such). It would also make for shorter lists of dependencies when using P8's dependent parameter tools. Any thoughts from the experts?

Hi all,
I would like to speed up the process of making the Beach Volleyball set for Antonia.Ā I'm going to release the WIP, maybe every week, at my Google site (http://sites.google.com/site/amyaimei/antonia).Ā I think this will improve the feedback/comment and improvement cycle.
I just upload the cr2 and obj in a zip (AntoniaBeachVolleyballSet2.zip).Ā I did not put the folder structure inside the zip. If you want to try it, just place it into the runtime.
The meshes are different from the old one.
The top is done, it comes with the texture template in svg format.Ā I'm not going to modify it in the coming week.Ā The top also has some extra bones to let user to make very simple pose of the ribbon at the back.
The bottom is still in progress.Ā It proved that the proper base mesh construction is key to the success of the conforming clothing.Ā This version matches the old one but with less number of JCMs and lower polygon count.
These are the simple rendered images from DAZ Studio 3.
I'm looking for DAZ Studio users to perform a simple test using the figure attached above.
The task is to load the figure, it should load as a small pyramid shape the size of a box prop. Then select the Body actor and set the CUBE-PYRAMID dial to zero. In Poser this will cause the pyramid to change to a cube shape, I want to know if it also changes to a cube in DAZ Studio.
What is actually being tested is whether 'valueOpTimes' works in D|S.
Save the file to any character folder as "Pyramid.cr2", that is to say, loose the ".TXT" part of the file extension.
Please let me know if it works or not, and your D|S version number.

As I had PoserPro2010 open at the time, I did load the cr2 in Poser...
It loads the pyramid shape, the dial set to 1 and doesn't change it's shape when setting it to 0.
So, something maybe wrong with the cr2...

msg24_7, I'm very greatful for your responce, also a bit perplaxed. It works fine in P6, so I don't understand why it's not working the same way in PoserPro2010.
The geometry is a cube. The pyramid shape is a morph, with the dial value set to 1.0 by default. The morph channel is slaved using valueOpTimes to the CUBE-PYRAMID channel in the body. CUBE-PYRAMID has a default value of 1.0. This should mean that the morph will remain expressed untill the CUBE-PYRAMID is turned to zero, when the value of the morph channel will be multiplied by 0 thus turning the morph off.
My expectation for D|S would be that if valueOpTimes does not work, it will load as a pyramid and stay a pyramid. My expectation for PoserPro2010 would be that it works as advertised. Neither of these expectations see to match reality. I'm totally confused by the results you got.
I really hope valueOpTimes is not broken in PoserPro2010, as I have been using it in quite a few things. I hope you are right, and that there is something wrong in my cr2, but as it works fine in P6, I don't see that as very likely.

Just verified, thatĀ the cr2 I downloadedĀ does work properly in Poser 6!
However, it doesn't work in Poser 7.0.4.220
So, something must have changed between the latest version of Poser 6 and the most current
version of Poser 7...

That's true. So perhaps there was something in the cr2 that was stopping it from working in some versions of Poser, but allowing it to work in P6. Let's see if the new version works, fingers and toes crossed.

Thanks Amy, that's interesting. So that was obviously with the first version "Pyramid.cr2". I can tell because I changed the channel name slightly in the second version, replacing "-" with "_". Would you please try the new version "Pyramid_2.cr2, and tell me if it works without modification?

I changed a number of things in the second version. Now I need to know which one did the trick. The first version used "allowsBending 0" in the 'figure' section, that is my prime suspect, though there were a number of other changes. InĀ the second version I removed a space in the cube actor name, replaced a hyphen with an underscore in the master channel name, replaced some channels that had been striped out of the file, and replaced controlProps which had also been striped out.
This one has 4 Pyramids, and 4 dials in the Body. Each dial should change one Pyramid into a cube. The pyramid actors are named from left to right:

cubeC
Set all the CUBE_Ā dials in the Body to zero, and tell me the name of any pyramids that do not turn into cubes. Thanks to all for your help and patience.

Does it help? Yes***!*Ā I think that just about nails the problem, at least for Poser, for D|S I still need confirmation.** The C pyramid uses "staticĀ 1" in both the slave and master channels, so "staticĀ 1" looks like it is the problem. "staticĀ 1" is used to prevent a channel from changing it's value when a frame change happens in an animation, it's what Poser uses when you turn animation on or off for a light or camera. In the past it has never stopped ERC (or anything else), from working within a single frame. Looks like that has changed with P7.

Just out of curiosity: what's the advantage of using 1.7? Most of the time, IĀ see people refer to either 2.3 or 3.0. Since neither of those really work for me, I'm now wondering if IĀ should try some older versions, too.

I have it on the primary machine I'm using. I have 3A installed on my laptop, but borrowed that to my kid for university, as I only bought it for travel, and none of my work things are on it. Since I've been using it from way back in theĀ dark ages, 1.7 is simply the point at which I got sick and tired of something breaking with every new update and where most of the scripts and shaders I have use for work.
Thanks sazzyazzca and ESarge. Looks like the situation is more complex than I thought. Version two seemed to work in all versions of Poser and D|S, but version 3 is seriously broken again in D|S. I'll have to think about the results, and what they mean. But first I need to go to bed. Perhaps it will all make more sense after a good sleep.

Okay, I will see if I can handle the Spawn-Morphs script and upload the set.
A As for the poses: These are originally for V3 and V4 and done by tabala, Danie & Marforno and AerySoul. I used Puppet Master to convert them and then adjusted hands and feet a bit. So unfortunatly I am not allowed to re-distribute them. But if someone here owns Puppet Master: The Freebie-Site holds the needed dat-file. After several tries I managed to set up Antonia for Puppet Master - with exception of the hands and feet that tend to show twists after converting a pose.
But I have an idea! I saw that Schlabber re-activated his homepage that is full of wonderful, free poses. I can drop him a line and ask if I am allowed to convert his poses to (free) Antonia poses. Is this an idea?
And to answer your question, RorrKonn: I am using mostly photoshop for creating textures and C4d to fix seams - and Leo paints the tattoos directly in C4d.
