Subject: Antonia - Opinions?

odf ( ) posted Sun, 21 August 2011 at 12:44 AM

I just had a brief look at the Wikipedia page that bagoas made. Excellent work! Thank you, good Sir!

I'm not sure, though, that I'm entirely comfortable with the fact that 50% of all Wikipedia pages containing my name now also contain phrases like "detail level of genitalia". I think maybe it would be sufficient to say that there's a small number of body morphs included to provide backwards-compatibility with pre-release versions of the figure, or something like that?

Also, maybe it would be nice to replace the picture with one that shows off the whole body (sufficiently clothed, obviously)? SaintFox has made some great promo pictures for Tony, maybe we could use one of those?

-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.

Diogenes ( ) posted Sun, 21 August 2011 at 3:27 AM

Hi odf :)

I needed a sleep but I'm back at it..  I just love the weight mapping and Antonia was such a great figure to work with. I am really enjoying myself again. Working with joints used to be such a hectic brain numbing thing, but with the weight mapping it is as easy as the morph brush.

Antonia is superb as always, and the weight mapped version will be very easy to work with for making clothes and other items. So anyone who would like to make something for her will be able to do so.

Hi Diogenes :)

Yes, that should make many things much easier. For some reason, I never expected weight-mapped bulges, even though that's an obvious thing to add once one has weight-mapping in general. Looks like there'll be very little need if any for corrective JCMs now.

-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.

Diogenes ( ) posted Sun, 21 August 2011 at 3:40 AM

Yup just very small litlle JCMs once in awhile for the most part though they are a thing of the past. Still usefull for shaping or specialized things a person may want to add. :)  It also makes things like helper bones usefull for something LOL.  I am thinking along the lines of using a few helper bones with weight mapping and DP for some natural muscle movement. We shall see.

I wish I could post pics here, but for the moment NDA restricts me to RDNA.

My pleasure! and welcome back, Sir!

Quote - I'm not sure, though, that I'm entirely comfortable with the fact that 50% of all Wikipedia pages containing my name now also contain phrases like "detail level of genitalia". Sure. I can change that, if you want. in fact any Wikipedia user can change it, but I will take the effort on me. To be honest I had not thought twice about this and assumed you would be comfortable with it because the morph was there in the main figure. It is said here now in public from reputable source that the morph was maintained for backward compatibility only, so it can be echoed in the article. (That's how things are with an Encyclopedia.
Will have access to the system with access to my Wikipedia account later tonight and make the change.

Quote - Also, maybe it would be nice to replace the picture with one that shows off the whole body (sufficiently clothed, obviously)? SaintFox has made some great promo pictures for Tony, maybe we could use one of those?

More pictures can be added. I considered using a picture with clothing but clothing quickly hides one of Antonia's main 'selling' points: her good bending. For the top image I had chosen this 'portrait'. showing shoulder/arm bending as a catcher. There is not much space at the top of the page and a full body shot would be 'overwhelming' when at same scale. On smaller scale it would not show much detail at screen resolution. Also, a full body shot would give a greater sense of 'distance' towards the reader.

If there is anything else anyone thinks should be added or modified, by all means let's hear it. This about both Antonia and about the community event laid down in this thread which was her creation. I think the process is more unique than the figure.

Bagoas: If ou want to use an image or both you can use them as you feel they fit - and if you  need a different size, ratio or a completely different image - let me know and I'll do them.

...and I chime in and say: A weightmapped Antonia? Soon? And Apollo to finally give her a partner to hug her and bring her the morning coffee but most of all weightmapped as well? WOW!!!! (What does not mean that I do not still hope for Brad, Diogenes, any time, I can wait...).

Is one permitted to alter Apollo in such ways as weight-mapping the figure?  I seem to recall a troublingly restrictive EULA accompanying the figure.

I have high hopes that it will be much easier to create conforming clothes for a weight-mapped Antonia.

BluEcho, I'm impressed. About 2 weeks before you wrote that you are creating new texture I started to work with mine morphs/textures set.

I have 2 morphs "teenage" and "30+". They were ready within 1 week. Later I started to work on new texture. 4 weeks passed and I have ready face and torso (still need a lot of adjustments BTW).

I wish to be a woman. I heard that they see more colours. I'm similar to windows 3.11 and I seee 16 colours. I have a lot of problem to adjust part of photoreferences to each other. I think that BuffaloBill from "Silence of the Lambs" have good idea. I need shape girl and scan her skin to obtain photo reference suitable to my skills.

Above is sample face and torso for "older" character. Bump and specular maps are made by Saintfox. My only succes was refit of Jessi hairs.

If you need body morph resource I can send you mine. They are little bbit messed, but should be easy to use. It is possible that if I do not finish my characters within few weeks, I'll give up. Then I'll be happy if somebody use my work. There are hundreds magnets morphs and sculpts and it is a pity to waste them.

I work with colours in my industry, and we have to take tests to see how much colour we can see. I would say 90% of people have some deficiency in colour. I have heard that women see colour better then men too, but I think this is a rumor started by women. In practice I find the best colour eyes are held by men. Mind you this is a pretty small sample of people, maybe 20 that deal with colours all day

I think that the real reason is because women actually think there is a difference between eggshell, ecru, cream, and off white.

That means that it must be determined by recessive gene on X chromosome. Anyway I think that it is manipulation. When I worked in printing press I have seen all colours clear, but when I am in shop with my wife I see no difference between new dress and dress which she bought few days ago.

I have question for morph creators. What would be more comfortable for users? How do you choose channels number? If all morphs would be injested in PBMCC_00 - PBMCC_01 etc. they would overwrite.

I think that if everybody create inj for first channels I should choose last. Then you can inj more morphs to one figure. Am I right?

Or maybe I should make my own channels?

Afrodite-Ohki ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2011 at 11:39 AM

I was considering this problem. Is there a way to "initialize" morphs for Antonia like we have when we install morph packs for V4? If I do manage to make morph packs for her, I'd like them to have their own channels so as to not limit people with custom morphs.
