Subject: OT: Annoying Windows Issue

Hi all,
I'm having this really annoying issue with both Windows XP 32 and 64:
All of the sudden when I try to open a file from within an application (Poser, Carrara, Word, etc.) all of my directories appear out of order. I can right-click and select "Arrange by name" and it works only until I move in or out of that particular directory, then everything's all over the place again. In Windows Explorer, everything appears all nice and alphabetized.
Obviously I can work around this, but it's annoying as all hell when like most of you, I have mountains of Poser content, textures, scenes, renders, etc.
I have four machines here and they're all doing this. Any ideas? Windows gurus?

Open a folder in Explorer.
Get the sorting the way you want it.
Find Tools : Folder Options on the top menu.
On the View tab, hit "Apply to All Folders", then
hit OK on bottom.

This should make most apps behave the same way,
but some apps always force their own way of sorting.

Get the folder set like you like it and then got to Tools>>>Folder Options>>>View and under Folder Views hit the "Apply to All Folders" button.

Or look for "FileBox Extender" - it's a free utility.

Be forewarned, it will go wonkey again. I have to reset it maybe once a month.
