No. Poser's method for rigging is different than most other applications. Daz Stuido supports it and is free but Daz Studio is NOT a modeling application.

However, if you have Poser, almost any modeling application (with the exception of maybe one or two) can be used to create content for Poser.

There is no free application that will produce Poser rigging and *allow you to tweak it**. Your choices are Poser itself, and DAZ|Studio with the recently announced Figure Setup Tools, which seem reasonably priced and are on sale right now.

  • I've emphasised my point about tweaking the joints - there are various apps which will apply a standard figure's rig to a grouped mesh, for making conforming clothes and so on - but without either the Poser joint editor or the D|S setup tools, you have no way of editing them if they don't suit your model. And of course, rigging an original model is impossible by these means.

You'll probably want to look at the Dr. Geep tutorials at Renderosity. I think he covers the subjects you'd be interested in, and in a way that's easy to understand.
