mr_Holger ( ) posted Mon, 03 November 2008 at 11:14 AM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 11:01 AM

hello, trying to create a late payoff with pope Clemens V., I found no Poser-clothing for the pontiff.

could anyone please give me a hint, if such clothing is available anywhere?
Pileolus?
Mozzetta ?
Pectorale?
shepherd's crook?
(don't know the english termms, sorry...)

kind regards

Holger

Well I don't see a Pope outfit per se, but Pappy the vendor here has several religious clothing sets available right here at Rendo. They start on Page two of his items for sale.

thank you for that hint!
... maybe Pappy's clothing might remember the pope the ideas of the early christianity...

but if not the pope's clothing, maybe something related to a bishop or a cardinal.
I cannot believe, that there is no such clothing outside in the shops.

pileolus = small round skullcap
mozetta = small cape , covers shoulders , about elbow length
pectorale = cross on a chain or cord (pectoral cross )

The above items are ceremonial vestements for a bishop.

shepards crook. = staff with hooked end .

I did a crook for DrTaj , I dont know what set it was used in though.

what figure did you want these for ?

I need a medieval pope/pontiff.
It should be Clemens V., but only historians know his correct outfit, I think.
So any outfit that is similar to the one of the popes is welcome.

I tried to find it at the DAZ artzone (formerly poserpros), but without success. :-(

**@ jonnybode: great, I will immediately go there.

@ Kuladen: I tried poserpros, it is now the artzone at DAZ. but the search function does not know any "cardinal" (expect some kinds of birds...)

Over at PoserWorld, there are a few possibilities for Mike 1/2 - the Khaftan, the monks's robe, the High Priest, the priest's cincture, etc. Membership required, though.

yup. Clemens (Clement?) V would be going back a ways...;)

Actually, since they're ceremonial Catholic vestments, it's likely the names you have are considered the correct ones....

thank you all.
@ leather-guy:  am a poserworld member since years, but simply forgot that source - -thanks again!

@ pakled: Clemens is the german version of Clement, I think.

I once tried to model the popes "crown" not sure what it's called. Anyways, that hat is much more complex to model than one would think. LOL

But my modeling skills have gotten a little better now, so I might revisit the idea.

I am sure it is harder to model this than becoming the pope himself.
But of course, if you would go on with this model: here waits your first customer, paypalready to go!
(could you show a snapshot of the old model, to give an impression of what ind of crown it will lookalike? I know the Tiara, the traditional crown of the popes, but since Johannes Paul I - 1978 or so - the popes use a Mitra, the crown  bishops wear. for my historical aims, the Tiara is the best one, but why not  a Mitra too? so you could create the first: war all ppe's heads from the beginning til today-set...)

I would also like one of those fancy vestments and bishops' mitres, and the ornate
jewelled shepherd's crook that the archbishop gets to carry around.  they copied
those from the pope's stuff, back in the days when the C of E was created.
