Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
OK - so I can copy the Poser 6 runtime into Poser 7? I'd like that.
I've had Poser 7 since it came out, but since most of my stuff was in Poser 6 and at first Poser 7 didn't work with Vue, I kinda left it in the dust. Now it's time to use Poser 7.

Hi Peggy, I just got a new computer myself today, a more powerful one. I have just installed P7 on it. As I am running Vist 64 bit now, I did have trouble getting the disk to run at first, but the man who set the new one up, it was good he put a remote program on it so he can see it and do things remotely - well he figured out how to run the install file on Vista.
If any other have this problem wih Installing P7 on Vista, you have to click on the .exe and tell it to run as Administator, even though I am that anyway, but that was the way he got it to install from the disk.
It is installed now, but I have to run the SR2 and do all the other things to set it up again and also move all my external runtimes into it from the networked old computer.
I have yet to reinstall Vue, but I got the download upgrade from V6Infinite to V7Infinite, and was lucky to be able to download the set up files etc last night before E-on went down. I am in Australia, so I did that job overnight.
Now the work of re-installing all my programs and stuff will have to wait till tomorrow.
Good luck with getting your new computer up and running, it a job and a half to do this eh. Jan
It's all the little details that get you when moving into a new computer!
I have Poser up and running now. All my pz3 files are opening.

New computer... Would it be better to install both Poser 6 and 7 or use Poser 7 and add my Poser 6 runtime? I'm not sure if old Poser 6 pz3 files will open if the runtime is not in the same location.
Thanks!
Peggy
