I've been using Vue 6 for a little while in Vista, everything was fine and then all of a sudden the textures on the basic trees have dissapeared and left me with thich grey clumps.... I've tried re-installing but the same thing keeps happening.... any ideas? Tried to insert a pic of my problem but don't know how to do that either...duh!

Hope somebody can help
Bez

First, can you check the materials? Simply hit F6 for the material overview and see whether the plant materials look okay. The above screenshot (click onto it) shows how it should look like.

Second, have you maybe changed something on your graphic card/drivers? Or in the Vue display preferences? What you describe is simply the basic plant, without the maps. And this CAN happen when Vue does not have enough resources anymore to display items correctly.

Maybe you can provide us with some screenshots - simply use the "Attach a File:" thingie at the bottom of the replay window.

thanks for your suggestions, but I think I've found a work around by reading through past posts. I'm opening Vue by 'run as administrator' and this appears to do the trick - so far lol... previous to doing this my trees looked like the attached pic.....

I have been using Vue with Vista and have never encountered this problem. Very interesting. Really curious myself why this would happen.

Vista and Vue for me too without that problem.  Looks like it's not reading the alpha map properly

I had the same problem when I first Used Vue6I on Vista64bit. Make sure you run Vue as an Administrator, This cured the problem for me...
