Subject: Font import issues

Hey all , does anyone know of a web site that has custom fonts in a obj or 3d's format not a "True Type Font file format ?."
I tried to import the special font that i want in "True Type Font format "into illustrator and export thru a "eps" or "ai "file ,and then import thru Carrara's spline room the font appeared but the integrity and shape of the font looked nothing like the original  that was in illustrator !
A bit stumped a little help any one , Cheers , Michael.

Is there a reason you just don't use the Carrara internal text tool?    It sounds like it's not the font's fault but something in the way Illistrator is exporting or the way Carrara is interpreting the file when it imports it.  If it's not completely crusian that you go through illustrator, then just crate it in Carrara and eliminate the middleman.

Hey Sparrow , the font i want would be pretty hard to create in the spline room don't have allot of time ! i am sure also that it is the way Carrara is interpreting the the file ! this font is for a custom logo like no other , Carrars fonts are basic but better than Cinema 4-D which is also not easy !
Thanx ,  Michael

Hmm.. Carrara can use any font that is installed in Windows.  I suppose I don't completely understand the need to even convert the text to an object.  If you have the font as a TTF font, then it shouldn't be a big problem.  If not, then I get what you mean.  I have some spare time if you would like, I could take a crack at creating it in the spline modeler for you if you send up a decent image of the font and text.

I am pretty sure I have that true type font, which can be used directly in Carrara.

Looks good, but some of the letters look a bit off scale to the others.  the SPA are the same, but the ce are a bit smaller  and the 5 in 3050 is bigger than the other numbers.

Try to use the fonts with the Carrara text editor...
