A friend of mine is over in Hong Kong for a few weeks and needs to know what the best Canon is on the market at the moment. He has a choice of a Cannon 450, 400 0r 40.....He can get great package deals on all 3........any hints?

450 is one of best , 'almost' pro
50D or 5 are always better;

its all about the money

Out of that choice the 40D is the best.  The 400 and 450 are good but from Canons basic range they do not have as many features. The bodies are plastic.  The 40D has a metal alloy body that is weather sealed.
