I have a vista 32 bit pc that I have just put a new hard drive in , and then installed vista 64 bit (along with another 4GB ram) .it now can boot into 32 or 64 from the boot manager . Ive reinstalled poser pro in vista 64 but it has installed to a folder program files x86 does this mean its not a 64 bit program (it does run ok) ive not updated it yet would I need to do this first? from the few problems Ive had in the past in 32 bit vista with 4gb ram the advice seemed to be more ram and 64 bit system .this ive now, done 8GB ram 64 bit vista i was hoping Id seen a big improvement and in Vue 6 ,the other render program im using (though ive not had time to do a big render yet)

Poserpro is a 32 bit programme with a 64 bit Render capability as I understand it.

Vue 6 is a proper 64 bit programme and will utilize all the RAM you can throw at it!

Do like most of us do, set up in Poser and render in Vue, it renders better anyway!

will vue render quicker now with my new set up?

Not quicker, but certainly much more stable and you will be able to use many more Poser peeps and props than before, it is truly awesome with loads of RAM!!

the problem i have with rendering pose scenes in vue is i cant get hair to render right , im not yet able to get the hang of the material editor and what i need to change to get the hair to render well.every thing ive tried to mess with has turned out even worse!

Most hair doesn't work that well in Vue, there are some exceptions though. I'm currently using Erato hair from Plus3D in most of my renders, works beautifully inside Vue, I'll be getting more of that merchants hair in the future.
There is a Tute in the Vue forum on how to adjust hair parameters inside Vue for a better look, Erato hair doesn't need it though.
I'm currently rendering a portrait using Erato hair that I'll be posting later [3 hours still to go].
