Subject: Blending Shadow Maps

I have just rendered a shadow map of a scene in Poser 7. I then rendered the scene without shadows on very high quaility settings. I want to blend them together in photoshop 9. Can anyone tell me how to combine them into a complete scene please?

Hi!

I tested it just now, and this way worked for me.

Renderd one image shadow only and saved as shadow.png, renderd one image without shadows and save as noshadow.png

Opened both pictures in Photoshop, selected shadow.png, copied it and pasted it over noshadow.png.

Then under Layer/Layeroptions (with the new layer selected)  theres a dropdown list where you can play with various effects.

When your happy with the result combine the layers an save the picture in preferd format.

I cant be more specific as I dont have the same version of Photoshop, mine is ancient.

Regards / Jonny

The easiest way to combine Photoshop layes from common renders (Multipasses) without worrying about misalignments, select one layer, hold down shift and drag to the second layer.

Thank you for your help, that's worked out well.
