You might be aware of this already, as I admit not reading too many notices here. Can somebody confirm that this is a true link and not a re-direction scam, it will direct you to the address below and I found out by doing a google search and it took me to a market place that looks identical to **'Renderosity' **but a different address, this is the address for this forum.[ http://www.***renderocity***.com/mod/forumpro/index.php](http://www.renderocity.com/mod/forumpro/index.php)

or try this one

Is this a ploy by the powers that be to re-direct a mispelt address or is there a scam in action.

Cheers
Chris

When I opened the link, Chris, it took me to the renderosity forums.  Looks like someone making sure the links are good by taking care of a misspelling.

lol... You sound like me! :P

No, this is neither a scam, nor a ploy. ;)

Renderocity is registered through Network Solutions, and you will see Bondware listed as the administrative contact. If you have purchased anything through renderoSity, you will also see Bondware listed in your receipts. ;)

Many companies often buy domains that are similar to their own, to protect against just such scams as you mentioned.

It is very smart for companies to acquire domain names similar to their "main" domain name.
For one, it adds a bit of protection, in that others will not be able to acquire the name and dupe people into falsely visiting that site.

You ever end up somewhere undesirable on the net because of a simple typo? I have! LOL !
Well, if I accidentally press a "c" instead of an "s" when typing in rendo's url, I will be ushered into the proper site. :D Thank goodness!

Good lookin' out, though! And great observational skillZ!  :D

Hi,
Thanks for looking, it's better to be safe than sorry, you hear of all sorts of scams taking place.  I can rest at ease now knowing that my $25,000,000 is safe and secure ;,)  sorry $25.00 is safe and secure.

Think of one as being more open for Google to browse and index.

Renderosity should make a 301 redirect from all their secondary domain names (whatever they are) to the main one.
This would prevent this kind of interrogations from users and also make the situation towards search engines better. At the moment, Rendo has 16200 pages indexed under the domaine Renderocity in Google and 92 external links to it.

Been there, done that.  I can understand why they buy up sites with domain names close to their main one.  Geekatplay didn't and I accidentally ended up at a porn site.
