Subject: Render Node Upgrade?

stagehand ( ) posted Sat, 28 March 2009 at 3:05 PM · edited Mon, 30 September 2024 at 5:35 AM

Does anyone know if when Carrara 7.1.1 was released, if the network render node was also upgraded?

I am trying to set up network rendering for the first time and receiving a message that one of the nodes was rejected because it is old. Since I'm using the render node that came with C 7.0 I'm thinking that might be the problem but thought I would ask before requesting a new download and reinstalling it.

Thanks,

7.1.1 is out a few weeks now. You need to reset your download to get your copy. I think that the render node is there too... I dont use it.

IT was a newer file, and I did download and install it. It was much easier to get working than I expected. I'm not exactly sure how much faster it is to render this way, the animation is averaging 13 minutes a frame to render, I didn't check it before when I was using a single workstation, but it did take quite a while.
