Subject: Question regarding animation speed

GaryChildress ( ) posted Thu, 09 April 2009 at 12:45 PM · edited Mon, 05 August 2024 at 2:06 AM

I have a Poser setup which was made for me a while ago.  When I adjust the frame rate of the animation nothing happens.  When I hit "Play" it always runs real real slow.  I'm wondering if there is a setting that has been set that I don't know about that is causing the animation to run the same slow constant speed all the time.  When I set the frame rate of the animation in the key frame editor it should change the speed that the animation plays in Poser but it doesn't.

Thank you.

It usually depends on the "Skip Frames" button at the lower right.  If this button is
turned on, Poser skips through the frames to get as close as possible to the
proper frame rate.   If "Skip Frames" is off, Poser draws every frame.  In this case
a very simple scene may be able to play at the proper rate, but a complex scene
will take too long to render even in Preview mode.  (For example, a big scene may
take 1/4 second to draw in Preview mode.  This would mean an effective rate
of 4 FPS, which is 6 times slower than the expected 24 FPS.)

As ockham says , the frame rate sets the playback speed in the final animation , not in preview .

If you want quite good speed (assuming "skip frames" is off) in prev. window then hide some things.

For the figure the head is the best choice (it's has plenty polygons in it) - so if you don't make anything special with head just hide it  - unhide before rendering.
