Subject: Bump and Displacement using Poser Shaders

As already mentioned a couple of times elsewhere, Vue does not use the Poser bump and displacement settings when using the Poser shader tree. Here is a scene rendered in Poser. The left sphere uses bump, the right one uses displacement. It doesn't matter if the nodes are mathematical or texture maps. They work (of course).

If I import this scene into Vue, I get another result. This is regardless of what Bump conversion ratio I use. Forget the lighting, it's just to illustrate the interpretation of bump and displacement in Vue when using Poser shaders. It does not work. E-on are aware of this problem.

I hope very much that this problem (and others connected with using Poser shaders) are fixed in Vue 7.4....     I don't think I'd like to pay for Vue 7.5 to get fixes for advertised features.

Let's wait and see...

.... of course, e-on are totally dependant on Smith Micro getting their act together regarding their SKD (Software Development Kit) - which, as mentioned elsewhere, allows Vue to import Poser scenes (whether they use Poser shaders or not)...
So, I guess I'm saying, based on the available information, PLEASE Smith Micro, give e-on a workable SDK.....

Oh, and e-on, PLEASE place Smith Micro under enough (friendly) pressure that they do this in a timely fashion.......

I regretfully have to say that Poser SUCKS. :/

it's such an unwieldy, kuldgy piece of poo under the hood, and they keep breaking it as they try to fix it (It's easy to use, could be better, and a dmaned sight more easy to use than the pro apps, but my ire is about how silly it is in it's tech, such as model size etc)

but they can't just ditch it all, due to the vast volumes of content, that woudl leave folk screaming mad if they can't use it

but at some point, someone has to completely re-do Poser from the ground up :/

I've just stuck to Poser6 because of all the crap, sigh.
