Subject: Byson M4 - just wondering...

Silke ( ) posted Mon, 25 May 2009 at 11:02 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 7:40 PM

I cannot seem to inject any morphs into him. (Mec4D has no forum, so I'll ask here.)
My M4 sits in the P7 runtime, my M4 packages are in an external runtime.
Byson is in the M4 runtime.
Since there is no inject for the morph, I have to load the Byson figure. I then go and inject the Morphs++ and... nothing. Zip. Nada.
I'm guessing it's because the channels are missing out of the Byson figure?
I have no morphforms showing up, or anything else.

It's seriously starting to pi$$ me off, and I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, or if it's just me, before I go back to Mec4D. (And I'll gripe about having a bald option, too, btw... but first I want the morphs situation sorted out.)
I really like the texture, but... if it doesn't work with injects in their morph, then.... that needs to be changed.
Mec4D, if you read this, just as a headsup (if you pardon the pun) -- I will pass on any future textures which don't have a bald+shaved option. It's just too limiting.

I recently read a thread where I believe they said you couldn't inject any of M4 morphs. Isn't this the case with all packages with it's own character? That it's locked? Otherwise it would just be a pose injection...right?

The Readme does not specify any need to inject M4 Morph++.  It is a character with custom morphs already built in.  I haven't checked this character out as yet; I can't elaborate any further.

Just checked this bad boy out and he is essentially what you get.  No capacity for morphing or enhancing.  The M4 Morph++ do show up in the properties panel but do not work.

Just load M4, and then apply these textures to M4, and you have a figure that can take the inject morphs

Yeah, but that's not what I was aiming for, Helgard.
I don't even get the eyes up down/side side morphs. I mean, come on.
It makes the character completely limited to what you can do with him.
It also makes me back away from any future ones, where I may want to use the morph.
The textures are very detailed -- but limited due to no bald / shaved textures (i.e. I cannot use any hair with him (or Wendy, for that matter), which...well.
I'm going to think twice next time, and the newest one just dropped off my wish list.

you can use the free morph manager to transfer morphs from the byson figure to the m4 base. as I recall this is actually how all morph packages were always provided years back before the mil 3 figures popularized injection morph poses.

I have her female character (Wendy) and she accepts all the Morph Injections just fine. That is odd Byson does not.

Mec4D actually just released an update with inj/rem files for Byson (I just got the email a few minutes ago)

THANK YOU!

Really, did you get him here, I haven't gotten anything like that.

It was a direct email. If you have him, maybe email them to ask? In case it got stuck in a spam filter?

Had this problem too, think it has to do with the installation, which puts an update icon your desk top to update  or activate the morph s and base, I think, after I did that I had no problems.

This is distributed as a figure?  OBJ and CR2?

no just cr2 with the morph, no obj. its an old school method, you would than go and use morph manager to transfer the morphs into the proper cr2, its the way it would have been done before injection. but as has been said the package has been updated to the more modern injection pose system.
