Subject: So No Real Python Scripting In Complete Then?

Hi,

I know I had my problems with Vue 6 Infinite and I had hoped it had all settled down, oh, I wish it had. In Vue 7 Complete, apart from rendercows not working, crash on quit and other problems, I then go to run a python script and find :-

You cannot run this script with this version of Vue.

Oh dear, the advertised run third party scripts in Vue seems to be a bit misleading, has anyone managed to get third party scripts running?

Well, an update for those that are interested, heard back from E-On, apparently they are aware of the problem and it will be fixed in the next update.

That next update should be good :)

Python in the "Artist" editions of Vue 7 is only able to run scripts obtained via the Cornucopia3D store (when it isn't otherwise broken).
This means that the only (besides any that are included with Vue 7) script currently available for those editions, is SkinVue.

That is terrible! I really can't believe that, so when E-On said 3rd Party Scripts, they really meant just our own scripts, which are going to cost you anyway?

I have just had a look again, and yep sure enough it says Cornucopia python scripts.

I can still use scripts in Vue 6 Infinite, but seems I am going back rather than forward on some projects at the moment.

I really wish I could afford Vue 7 Infinite, but the price was too much for me, I guess apart from scripting there wasn't a lot else extra I would have used, maybe bake to poly's but that was about it.

Ah well, live and learn I guess, still pretty dissapointed about the scripting though.

I was eagerly waiting for this 7.4/7.5 upgrade, but in all forums I visit I see nothing but people complaining about severe bugs on things which used to work in 6.x or 7.

It appears that E-On has a real problem with quality control; it would be a great service to Vue if they stopped adding new features for 6 months/1 year and they spent this time doing ONLY BUG FIXES.

P.S.: may be E-On management could google for a thing called "regression testing"...

The French language could be a barrier to getting bugs fixed/prevented also.
