Subject: was I too long at the pub or did I break poser? all poses send to X/Z trans 0?

I've just started working with bigger scenes.

So, I moved V4 over to the park bench,
clicked her sit pose
--- and ---
she goes flying off to sit at  x/z-trans 0.

This couldn't be right.  Tried another pose, same thing, she went flying off.
tried on her body, tried hip, ikeys off, ikeys on.

Tried the poses on Jessi6.  She goes flying off to the center of the universe, too.

I hit the Secrets of Poser 5 book, to finally figure out to remove this:

        translateX xtran
            {
            keys
                {
                k 0 0
                }
            }

        translateZ ztran
            {
            keys
                {
                k 0 0
                }
            }

from the PZ2 file.  wallah, she sits on the bench.

Elation is short lived as it dawns that I would have to do this to every single Pose file.
say it isn't so!

There is a tick box or preference setting I'm missing, right?  a world space thingee?

I have found that all poses are not saved equally.  Some will pose at the same coordinates all the time, others will pose whereever you place them.  It is how the poses where saved.  Unfortunately, I am not at my computer to give you a thorough description but I suggest that you pose your character and resave it universally without checking any boxes (Morphs and Transformation?).  Hopefully that will solve your problem.

Alternatively you could just lock the body before using any of these
pose files, then unlock it afterward and put it where you want it.

Or memorize the body before, then restore it after the pose.

I'm actually jotting down the X and Z coordinates on sticky pads to bring the figure back to the chairs.

I'll have a good cry later.

Maybe those Masters of Python can make a script?

Don't ya just hate when you click on the dials to type in a number,
but it's slow and you end up
changing your viewport from a single view to the 4 ports view?

I do it constantly...LOL. And by that I meant sticky notes, cry and the 4 port thing ;o).

And sometimes there's no undo when a Mat File messes up the pose.

I forget which one, the Sparkle character I think, knocked Vicki's knees together.
