Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
I have the same problem. I have 7.4 infinite, latest actual build (not the new beta that came out today), and XP 64.
Edit: I actually noticed this the past day or so, as I've been trying to work with the layers again... it's been frustrating to say the least.
Rarer than a hairy egg and madder than a box of frogs....

Yes, I too am using the latest build of 7.4 42999 and like I said, even though I was not using the Material Editor in much detail prior to version 7.4, I don't recall this problem before. It also does not matter if it is Mac or PC, 32 or 64 bit, as it is the same issue regardless. They are looking at the sample file I sent them so hopefully they will have an answer or at least something to say regarding possible bugs in 7.4 causing this.
It must be something going on because you and two others I have heard from are having this problem too.

Glad it wasn't just my imagination... i've only managed to get it to work once or twice in the past two or three days, and only on layered materials instead of mixed. Dunno what i did to make it work, or if its just one of those random things.
i had this issue in 6 pro studio before i upgraded to 7inf - but at that point, i thought it was a limitation of pro (might have been LOL)

Quote - No, works fine here, build 42999.
Can you send me a sample file that works for you? Anything is fine, doesn't need to be a full scene, only one that has both "simple" and "mixed" material layers in it. It would help to test because if you have one that works and the same file does not work for me, then something is wrong.
It's possible if it is a bug then it is a combo of things or random, but having a KNOWN good working file on the same Vue version build will help.
If you can send it, drop me a PM here and I will send you my email address for you to send the sample file to.
Thanks.

Quote - I just updated to the new beta update, so it may not be relevant, and I just tested this on a scene that wasn't saved.
That's OK, since it is not the same version build it would not apply. I know e-on has told me they are working on an update for Vue 7.4 so hopefully some bugs get worked out. Thanks anyway.

I have come across a rather strange problem in Vue 7.4 (both Mac and PC tested have same results) not wanting to allow a material layer to be deleted in the "Advanced Material Editor". The boxes are grayed out and so is the option to move them up and down in the order. This happens with Simple and also "Mixed" material options. At this time, I am not sure what the issue is or why this is going on. I can add a new layer fine, but it does not allow a layer to be deleted or moved once there.
I have sent in for support help and e-on is looking at the file I sent them. So far they said it seems like something strange may be going on but are not sure at this time until they look into it more.
Has anyone seen this happen on Vue 7.4 and any possible thoughts on what may be going on? It did not seem to be an issue for me as far as I recall before 7.4. but I really was not working much with material layers at that time so I am unsure.
