Subject: OT: Have you become an Actor because of Poser animation??

tebop ( ) posted Thu, 23 July 2009 at 5:44 PM · edited Sat, 08 February 2025 at 3:06 AM

I have kind of.

I've spent now weeks acting out and creating voices.. reading scripts, and just acting emotion and all that . I practice making faces just to check stuff etc etc

Heheh, i feel like I'm an actor now

That's why I would add Acting 100  as a requirement to the Poser degree i described in my other thread.

Nope... I started acting when I was 13, and Poser when I was about 30. 😄

No.  I acted in and directed a play in my sophmore year of HS which was a little bit before I learned about poser.  I only directed it because I was sick the day they choose who the director would be.

It is one of the many dreams of mine to become an anime/game voice actor, but I don't see that happening at all.

WARK!

I DONT mean a professional working for some Movie company or animmation company. I just mean, you doing your own acting to help you on animating Poser characters

Only my voice if making a test animation or a music video.

But if you will make a full length movie, the voices of the actors must be recorded first before the animation itself be done.

Character animators do have to Know acting performance to give "life" or Emotion to their characters so I would say Yes you do have to be somewhat  of an actor to create convincing character animation.

Yeah, even for exercise.. I get up often to act out stuff and jump.. My legs and butt get tired if i just sit all the time..

ALso, if you do voices, you can't get the feeling if you just talk .. you  have to act out using facial expressionas and hand movements

I am a Poser victim too. :)

Life is hard, but what a ride.

Same, I do poses in front of the mirror when working in poser, I've been caught doing so too, very embarasing

I videotaped myself once lying in bed then getting up. Then used the video as a guide. I think I did well but I realized it took me a longer time to animate it due to the desire of perfecting the movement like the way I did it.

Acting might be overstating it a bit, but trying out moves in slow-motion to figure out which bits are actually twisting and turning in a motion (with the door firmly locked! Damn kids and their video phones!)

Yeah, youtube for global humiliation, but somehow its the local networks that are the worst, when you know what the pack of teenage hyenas at the local bus stop is howling at.....
.........."what's that son? no credit on your phone? Oops, did I forget to pay your bill?" :)
