Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 18 10:25 am)
Oddly enough, despite dozens of posts here and on the Max forum about all kinds of bugs and problems with the Max importing function PPP is supposed to have (and still continues to advertise that it has) Curious Lab's web page doesn't have a single note anywhere on it about how the PPP has serious problems with Max. We've been assured multiple times they're working on it, and have been told they're busy with warez issues which occupy all their time. Haven't seen anything yet. Hint to CL: Posting ANY kind of update, progress report, warning to MAX users, temporary patch for any of the many issues, etc. on the web site would go a long way towards improving morale out here. As it is, many of us feel pretty ripped off. --
Yeah, after I posted I remembered something about props and multiple figures screwing things up. I really don't want to render naked people. I'm beginning to wonder if I should start learning Character Studio. It would save me a lot of money compared to buying lots of Poser stuff which I can't render. Poser's lighting sucks. Bryce's lighting sucks and it screws up textures. Vue chokes and dying a slow, horrible death on Poser files - they seem to be too large. I'm saving up for a new computer soon, so I can't buy Lightwave as well just to host/render Poser files properly. I'm not a happy camper right now, even after watching one of my favorite comedy movies!
Ha !!! The Lightwave PPP hosting on the Mac platform is a Dabacle also. Im sorry for being so blunt here people, but How did WAREZ prevent them from properly testing these Lightwave and Max Plugins before!! they pawned them off on us, the user base??? I have never seen a software maker promise so much and deliver so Little on a product release and then claim to be too busy fighting Bootleggers to offer offer fixes that SHOULD have been discoverd before the products release. I have Max 3, Educational version. So far, I have managed to get 1 item to import, no textures. Every other time I have attempted to import items, it has either failed, just showing a box, or has crashed the program completely. This is with the same scene each time, so it can't be a problem with a corrupted file. The scene features Michael, shirt, pants, and 2 props, plus textures. Is there an issue with the educational version not working properly with PPP? I'm getting really discouraged.
