any material that you have "imported into the mat section" was originally made with Bryce. a material is made up of a set of optical properties and anywhere from 0 to 4 texture components. 3d "procedural" texture components are edited in the Deep Texture Editor. 2d texture components can be composited into materials (and that's what the tutorial link is about, my tutorial on using picts in Bryce materials). once you have a material you like, you can save it to your material presets. once you've saved a material as a preset, you can then select it and click on 'export' to create a .mat file which other Bryce users can then "import into the mat section" of their Bryce... -calyxa______________________________________________________________________________________

Could/would someone please reccomend a through tutorial on how to make your own materials allowing for one to save the new material &import it into the mat section??:) tia, snippy
