Vista actually gave the culprit .dll.

nvshext-dll

Does Poser 8 mean there won't be another Service Release for P7?
Does Windows 7 mean there won't be another SR for Vista?

too early for the pub?

Nvshext isn't part of Poser. It appears to be part of the Explorer in Vista, and it
also appears to be a frequent carrier of viruses........

My production PC isn't on the internet or any network, never was, never will be.

PC abstinence. lol

And I scan my flash drive before porting over the content downloads.

I don't know what much more I can do to be secure from viruses and spyware.

nvshext.dll is part of the Nvidia drivers, have you recently updated your drivers? if so did you un-install the previous version before installing the new ones?

grab a copy of THIS use it to remove the nvidia drivers totally, then install the newest ones, it should fix the problem.

I will add that Windows Updates have been rolling back Drivers, so if you recently installed an OS update, you should double check your Driver Version. I ususally just reinstall the latest Driver and it is fine. If there was an issue with the current Driver (like when they released several versions in a row) I find it best to completely remove the Driver and reboot and then install the latest Driver.
