Subject: SmithMicro PayPal problems

Anyone else found it impossible to purchase Poser 8 from the SM store using PayPal?

It just doesn't work for me.

I've started a support ticket but their offices on the West Coast are way behind me (Scotland, UK) so I'll be asleep by the time they get round to replying.

I'd like to know if it's just me or a more general problem.

I purchased it last night using PayPal without any issues.

Hi,
I experienced the same problem last weekend. Wanted to pay via PayPal from the
CP site, was forwarded to PayPal, saw the correct amount there, pushed "OK",
was forwarded back to CP. Cart not paid.
Tried the same with credit card, it worked. I immediately changed my PW on PayPal,
I hope it was just a bug, not a DNS attack.

Best regards,
    Michael

The Paypal button is placed strangely. At first I thought I was thrown back, but then I noticed the "proceed and pay" or whatever the button was called on the SM site.

So I successfully ordered my Poser 8 and paid with Paypal - but at first I didn't think it worked either.

Hi!

I tried to purchase Poser 8 upgrade + the aditional extended download on the day of release, upon return from Paypal I got an error sign when i pushed "confirm Paypal Payment" button that stated try again later.

When i later pushed the same button i got another error stating that "the transaction was already fulfilled"

$138.67 was removed from my bank account and transferd to Smith Micro, but Poser 8 remained in my cart.

I still cant download Poser 8 as its in my cart, my money is at Smith micro and they are searching for them according to their support.

This is getting on my nerves.

Regards / Jonny

SmithMicro told me everything was working normally, but their PayPal system seems glitchy to me. When I clicked the 'continue' button on my PayPal page - which didn't show how much I was paying, BTW - it sent me straight back to my cart on SM's site, showing the order still unpaid. As previously.

So I clicked the license agreement again, then the PayPal button again, and voila! The page updated (didn't send me to PayPal again) and there were my download links, serial number and everything.

Downloading the P8 installer took forever. Then I started the P8 content download (1.7Gb), which crapped out at 1.2Gb. So before restarting, I found a FireFox download manager add-on called "DownThemAll!!" and I'm now downloading the P8 content and Legacy Content zips simultaneously at a combined speed of 800 Kb/s or thereabouts - pretty much the maximum my broadband connection is capable of.

It's showing a projected completion time of under an hour! Compared to the standard downloader's 3+ hours just for the P8 Content!

I am trying to buy it right now and can't see a Paypal option at all, only the field for entering credit card info...

Well I gave up and used my credit card. I tried several times and the Paypal option just isn't visible.

It's definitely a buggy system. Even the first attempt with my credit card after giving up the idea of Paypal turned up the error in the third screengrab and I had to do t all over again;

Well after all that I'm happy to say the two confirmation emails arrived and I will download P8 tomorrow. It's half past midnight here now and if I DL it now I will be up all night testing...
