Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Thanks... I know I should ask such stuff at Phil's place but for some reason I can never remember my password there no matter how often he resets it for me!
Just read that post... Phil says WW in P8 has a new interface and comes with data for the SM figures. It takes the WW2 figure expansions and so far as he knows all his scripts run fine in P8.
There was a last minute ooops and the Alyson support file that got included is corrupted big time. You'll need the "hot fix" from Smith Micro which addresses the issue.

Yes the WW2 figure support files will be compatible with the version of Wardrobe Wizard in Poser 8. I have just finished writing a utility that will help folks copy over their old support, DAT and MOR files. If a couple of you would like to be guinea pigs and try it out before I make it generally available that would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
You mean we can't just copy/paste them now?
Yes you can copy paste. The figure support files remain withing the Poser 8 application runtime but the clothing and morph analysis files now go to the runtime of where ever the user opted to place their Poser Content. Since this location is not so obvious I felt that a utility that did it automatically would be useful.
The reason for the change is to come into line with the Windows 7 recommendation to not save any user generated files within Program Files.
Hope to have it available later today.

I saw some mention that P8 ships with WardrobeWizard by PhilC... Is it a full version? Can it use the figure expansion sets we purchased for Wardrobe Wizard 2?
Is there any problem running the old P7 scripts such as RealSkinShader on P8?
Is there anyway to implement hands/feet/head transfer on Wardrobe Wizard as a way to use the mesh/uvs from one figure on shape/rigging of another? For example convert the V3 Reduced Resolution mesh to take the shape of Miki 1020 or something like that? It should be legal if it is only for my own use only and I own both figures... I own some EF figures that I like but they are too mesh heavy for me to render with anything else in the scene so fitting a lower resolution mesh to them would let me use their bodyshape/poses/clothes in moree complicated scenes.
I guess these are three different issues... the main question is how does P8 implement WW and can the old WW2 figure licenses/data be used with this built in WW.
Thanks.
