Subject: Human modeling troubles

CDI ( ) posted Fri, 21 August 2009 at 10:17 AM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 2:38 PM

Hello all,

Im having some real trouble with human modeling.

Specifically Im having trouble with the shoulder and chest area. Ive seen several posts on other sites showing the flow of the topology from the pectoral muscle up to the shoulder. However none of them seem to show how the basic modeling of the chest was accomplished and for the life of me I cant get any of my models to work right in that regard.

Does anyone have any bookmarks covering that specific area of modeling?

Ive looked even at the Joan of Arc tutorial...the supposed holy grail of modeling...and while it was a great reference I find it a bit confusing to follow as it uses cuts and features that arent (yet to the best of my knowledge) available in Blender.

As always any assist is greatly appreciated.

PS: for those who offered assistance with my starship: Thanks but that project has been put on hold as it was a personal one for a friend and he changed pretty much every aspect of the original design. *rolls eyes

Hey dude check out the http://www.nevercenter.com/videos/tutorials/  In particular the Minitaur model tut. Its spans several vids... Wich is cool beacuse it's easier to go back and watchn the particular section you are interested in. The tut is done with Silo but it should be easy enough to make it work with any box modeling program.  Plus you can down load a 30 day free trial you can get from the site if you want to follow along in the same grogram.

Hope this helps.
