I don't know what filter algorithms that Eudora is using, but most junk mail is filtered based not just on where it comes from, but by combinations of keywords in the subject or body of the e-mail. Some filters will move mail to junk if the body contains a certain number of HTML links, or if the links go to sites it thinks are un-trustworthy.
I had a problem with Outlook filtering out all of the e-bots from here for a forum thread titled something like "Offering To Help" or some such; I guess the filter program thought it had some kind of sales pitch.
Outlook lets me flag e-mail addresses as always being trustworthy, but not domains. Unfortunately, I've also got McAfee, and it's a lots less predictable about how it diverts stuff. I haven't looked at Eudora in a really long time, so I don't know, but it may have a set up file somewhere that lets you modify it's junk mail rules.

I guess that makes sense, but it still doesn't explain why emails from every other recurring address always go to the proper filter I have set up. And the email filters in Eudora appear to be based entirely on address, not content.
If someone sends me an email including any number of "spam words" it will still go to the folder I have set up for them, as long as it's from the same email address. Renderosity is the only exception to that rule, as far as I've seen so far, leading me to conclude there is something else in the address that's different, that Eudora is looking at instead while determining where to put it.
For that matter, I have all spam filtering turned off, and it's relatively rare that any emails end up in "Junk" other than those from here. Mostly, the spam I get ends up in my "In" box.
I can delete my Renderosity filtering rule and the folder, and recreate it when the next email from ebot@postoffice.renderosity.com arrives, and I will get a certain number of RO ebots end up in that folder, but still, not all..
I'm guessing it's a bug in their software, or, more likely, the web development team would call it it a "feature". ;-)
I just recalled this, and though it might have something to do with it... in the header of an e-mail there can be more than one address related to where the message came from. There's the actual address that the e-mail came from (which doesn't have to be a real address; a popular option with spammers, sadly), there can be a "display" address that the e-mail program will show you (so you see a friendly name and not the actual address), and there can be a "reply-to" address that's been made to be different from the sending address (another popular option with spammers).
It may be that the automated system that sends out e-bots here is embedding the server name in one or more of the addresses showing where the message is coming from. If there's more than one server here doing the work (which seems possible, R'osity must send out a blue million e-bots) maybe some messages that look like they're coming from the same address have different, internal addresses. That's a wild guess, but maybe it's in the neighborhood.
Interesting, and you may be right.
I just looked over the header source and one that went to my Junk folder was from their server "Arthur", while one that went into the correct folder was from "Lancelot".
I thought maybe that's the key, but I also have Junk from Excalibur and Correct from Gawain...
I guess I'll keep an eye on that sort of thing and see if I can find a connection.
If I don't get bored with that first. ;-)
I don't think there's anything I can do about it even if I do figure out what's happening.

Mike,The Eudora junk filtering is run before the rule you have set up for the EBot emails, so if they're marked as junk they end up in your junk folder before your filter can redirect them. Adding and removing the rule shouldn't alter this behavior at all.
It seems about all you can do is mark the messages as "Not Junk" in Eudora and it should eventually learn that they are not spam. There's no way to specifically avoid the junk filtering for the rule you have set up, I'm afraid. There should be a "Not Junk" option in the message menu which will allow you to do this.
Hope that helps,
Adam.

Let us know Mike
It seems to have worked.
I only had to tell Eudora maybe twice that a couple of ebots weren't junk, and it hasn't happened since.
Go figure. And all this time I though the "Not Junk" instruction in Eudora was simply to transfer something to the inbox from the junk box.
Thanks again, Adam. :-)

I use Eudora for my email and have been doing so for a long time.
I use Comcast for my email here and at all forums and have been doing so for the past 4 years. In other words, no Gmail or any other free email, just the real deal from my ISP.
So I have a Renderosity folder/filter set up in Eudora. Whenever I get an ebot, about two thirds of them go straight into that folder automatically, but the other third goes into the Junk folder. Not the "In" folder, like all other non-filtered emails, but the Junk folder.
I have no idea why this happens, and all the ebot emails come from the same address: ebot@postoffice.renderosity.com
So why do some from that address go into the proper Renderosity folder while others go into the Junk folder? Anybody?
I should add that once an ebot from a specific thread has found its way into either folder, from then on ebot emails from that thread will always go into that folder, no matter how many times I try to redirect them.
This doesn't happen with any other forums, or anyone else I email with regularly. It is a uniquely Renderositarian phenomenon.
