Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
MikeJ...yes we host them and I've not noticed anything being rejected due to file size...I will look into if there are size limits but I've seen some freakin huge Poser files come thru as well as some very complex poly heavy obj files..
The best way to know in the mean time would be to upload stuff and see if anything gets rejected.
I'll post back to this thread when I find anything out.. ...
Once
in a while I look around,
I see
a sound
and
try to write it down
Sometimes
they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again
Quote - 60 MB?
That's an awful lot to supply for free. I'm amazed people can still find something to complain about when y'all are offering so much space for free...
The complaining was never about the free hosting, only about the sudden imposed use of it.
I suspect that as the new system ramps up, they'll start benefiting from volume discounts for the amount of storage and bandwidth they're renting from S3.

Well I don't want to rehash it or anything like that, but yes, I suppose you're right.
Only because I know you wouldn't just make that up. ;-)
In that thread, I really wasn't ever completely sure what the complaining was about, as it seemed to be pretty much all over the place. I thought the main complaint was that there wasn't enough advertising in the free stuff area. ;-)

I thought they were complaining that there should have been more clicking necessary to download the item?
If anyone has any complaints now, they should watch this first (warning: bad language. Also, don't have food or drink in your mouth, as it WILL come out through your nose).

I know there were recent changes to the whole Free Stuff thing here, but kind of lost track of what exactly those were amid the hoots and howls of displeasure.
So, is it correct that Renderosity actually hosts files now, in that you can upload straight from your HD to their server, without an external link?
And, is there a file size limit? All I'm seeing is limits on thumbnail size and the number of things you can upload in a day.
Thanks. :-)
